For E-2 treaty investors buying a US franchise

Your franchise, your visa, and finances that hold up twice.

They have to satisfy the consulate at filing, and they have to still make sense at renewal. Those are two different tests, and the projections that pass the first are the budget you run against for the second.

This is the finance and business side of launching in the US, handled directly. Buying a franchise under E-2 is the common case — and the same work stands up the finance function behind any new US venture, visa or not.

Calls are held in English or Spanish.

Two ways this goes wrong before it starts

Underestimating capital

The capital figure is often set before anyone models the first two years of operation. A number that looks adequate on a franchise disclosure document can be thin once real ramp, working capital and reserves are in it — and the consulate reads for exactly that.

Not planning renewal from day one

The E-2 is renewed on performance, not on the original plan. If the finance function is not producing the numbers renewal will ask for, that work starts late and under pressure. It is far cheaper to build it into the first ninety days.

What I provide

  1. Pre-purchase financial validation

The franchise disclosure financials, unit economics and capital adequacy read before you sign — so the decision rests on numbers rather than on enthusiasm.

  2. The five-year E-2 financial model

The projections that go into the business plan your attorney files, built to become your operating budget rather than a document filed once. US consular guidance asks new E-2 enterprises for financial projections for the next five years, supported by a thorough business plan (9 FAM 402.9).

  3. Renewal-ready finance

A ninety-day setup, then a quarterly forecast against actuals, then the financial package renewal will require — produced as a matter of course rather than assembled in a hurry.

  4. The company back home

If there is a business in your home country that still needs running, that is a Fractional CFO mandate, and it is the practice I run every day.

I work alongside your immigration attorney and your franchise consultant. I do not give immigration advice and make no claims about visa outcomes; eligibility is confirmed by your attorney.
